Frequently Asked Questions

How high is the commission?
The commission is 50 % of the sales price, with a maximum of 100.00 Euro/design. The designer pays the commission, which is due as soon as he or she has received his or her fee from the customer.

As a designer, do I have to worry about other designers stealing my designs and/or ideas?
In principle, presentation of a design on Logomarket is equivalent to (first) publication. Furthermore, protection rights automatically result from the copyright, meaning that so-called plagiarism presents a high risk to unlawful users. Intentional use for commercial purposes would even be considered a criminal offence!

How can designs be offered at attractive fixed prices?
When a designer draws up a logo, he or she generally prepares a range of designs and alternatives. However, the customer only buys one design, leaving the designer with umpteen designs to use and/or market elsewhere. Since they have already been created, no new design costs are incurred and the designs can be offered to other prospective customers at rather reasonable rates.

Why does Logomarket charge a commission on every design sold?
Before a design can be successfully sold and the contact to the designer closed, Logomarket.com lays down considerable groundwork:

Development and availability of the technical platform
Service and telephone customer support from 9 am - 7 pm
  Publicity, promotion and cooperation maintenance

Logomarket.com does not charge for these services - not even a membership or basic fee. Logomarket.com alone assumes the risk of the saleability of the logos.

Designs for 250.00 Euro and less - isn't that price dumping?
Designers using Logomarket.com should not primarily be looking to fetch high prices, but rather to benefit from new customer contacts and to receive a fair fee for subsequent orders. A design on Logomarket.com is simply intended to serve as a "foot in the door." Feedback from participating designers has shown us that this strategy works.

What do customers say when you publish and sell designs on Logomarket.com that they have rejected?
There is no legal basis for objection. The work is generally produced in the context of a design order and consequently licensed to the customer through a rights contract. Designs for which the customer has not requested or paid usufruct rights may thus, in principle, be offered elsewhere. It should, however, be noted that a certain creative "distance" from licensed designs should be respected; otherwise the customer could query the risk of a mix-up and the exclusivity he or she was promised.

How can I present typographical designs or designs with company names on Logomarket.com?
If possible, typographical elements should be modified to render the design (more) universally usable. This can be indicated through the use of "XYZ" or "Your name," etc. Company and brand names absolutely must be removed to ensure that no trade mark rights are damaged. They can be replaced with "Your brand" or "Your company."

As a designer, can I also offer and sell designs of mine that appear on Logomarket.com elsewhere?
Of course. However, you should promptly remove (or have removed) the designs concerned from those available on Logomarket.com to ensure that the design is not inadvertently sold twice.

A design offered on Logomarket.com is very similar to a logo I use and for which I hold the copyright. How should I proceed?
Since Logomarket.com merely acts as a mediator, you should contact the concerned designer. We will be happy to assist you in doing so. However, please keep in mind that a logo presented on Logomarket.com will not necessarily subsequently be used or circulated by the buyer exactly as it is. Frequently, the buyer will make changes to it, thus avoiding any conflict with your rights.
